During the past semester, I completed two presentations on Place-based Learning (PBL). One was a generic summary and one was an example of implementing PBL locally. These presentations expanded my understanding of where students learn. Previously, when I thought of learning I envisioned rows of desks, filled with attentive students receiving knowledge from an instructor. However; when one unpacks PBL, a new understanding begins to form: students can learn anywhere when there is curiosity, intention, and a place to be.
