I intend for my future classroom to embody inclusion. I will intentionally and consciously celebrate diversity and leave no space for discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality or socio-economic status. I will uplift voices that have been previously colonized or marginalized, and incorporate multiple means of sharing knowledge. Students will develop respect for both themselves, their peers, and others within their community. I will strive for a learning environment that is a safe space for every individual to be actively engaged in learning, validated, and unoppressed. I will foster a community of support where we actively build one another up, celebrate differences, and understand how we are enriched by them. Students will find equity in assessment and accessibility. I intend to nurture empathy, kindness, and respect.
